Over $3,800 Raised at Lake Oconee Academy!!

Spearheaded by Lake Oconee Academy Sophomore Anna Harris, more than $3,800.00 was raised at the first annual Da Vinci Foot & Ankle Shoes of Service 5K and Fun Run! More than 100 individuals participated in the event. Individuals including runners ranging in age from 4 to 74 were in attendance! To help cover the cost of transporting shoes overseas, the funds from this event will be used. We have chosen to send them to Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic. In addition to the money raised at the event, a generous supply of new and gently used shoes were collected. This new supply will add to the shoes of service program. These shoes will be distributed to those in need in the Dominican Republic later this year. They will also be distributed locally on April 15th, 2017 at the Second Harvest.

Da Vinci Foot & Ankle and Surgeons of Service would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratefulness. Both to Anna Harris and the students at Lake Oconee Academy who helped with the race festivities. We are excited to have partnered up with the school and we look forward to participating again in next year’s race!
