Da Vinci Foot & Ankle is proud to be a newly established business in the Lake Oconee and West Augusta communities and we are motivated to integrate both our services and humanitarian efforts into the two areas. As our brand continues to grow, we aim to be known not only as the premiere Foot & Ankle providers in the area but to also be known for our charitable efforts within the community. Partnering with Second Harvest to distribute shoes through the Shoes of Service program to those in need is just the start. We are partnering with area schools to support the Shoes of Service campaign and we have already partnered with Lake Oconee Academy in Greensboro, GA, and Gatewood School in Eatonton, GA. Similar to our shoe drives, we collect lightly used boots, braces, and crutches from patients who are no longer in need of the medical equipment and we save them for local individuals who are in need of them with a financial hardship. Additionally, we see first hand when patients are injured and require surgery, however, don't have the financial means to afford the needed surgery. Therefore, we have established a financial hardship application process for individuals in need for both clinical and surgical assistance.

Through Surgeons of Service, Dr. Christopher Menke and Dr. Allison Menke continue to organize and run medical mission trips multiple times a year. Currently the efforts are focused in a remote town on the northern peninsula of Samana, in the Dominican Republic. After a 3 hour direct flight from Atlanta, GA to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the group travels straight north for 2 more hours before arriving in the small town of Las Terrenas. It is here where the clinic is held, providing patients with foot and ankle medical care that they would otherwise not receive. Basic services like dispensing a pair of shoes or shoe inserts, braces, offering ibuprofen, cortisone injections, and wound care to more advanced surgical services, patients in Las Terrenas receive the same quality of care that is offered at the Lake Oconee office. To read more about our recent trips and to see how you can get involved, visit the official Surgeons of Service website.
